GYPSY BLOG - OUT AND ABOUT
May 28, 2009 - Happy Birthday Juergen Scheer!
This one is kind of cheating as Juergen lives in Berlin, Germany. He is one of the best friends anyone could ever wish for (I can't believe we've been friends for more than 15 years now!). His only connection with North Carolina at this point is - me living here. But, I'm hoping that will change when he does come to visit. Until that time, I wish him the best, always. And a very happy birthday!
May 23, 2009 - Raleigh Durham Travel Examiner
Adding another venue to my travel side. Working with examiner.com to write articles about things to do in North Carolina, particularly in Raleigh, Durham and surrounding areas. Articles will also be on this site, check specific region from tabs and scroll to the desired city. I will include more photos, information, and map w/ link for driving directions on this site and examiner will be article w/ some photos. Examiner is just another way to get the word out about the great places to visit here in North Carolina. It's all good.
May 19, 2009 - Happy Birthday to Ava Andrejko!
Three-year-old Ava and her dad, Jonathan walk along the trails at Lake Michie Recreation Area in Durham. Not far from Bahama. Lake Michie is a reservoir fed primarily by the Flat River and is the primary reservoir for the city of Durham. It has hiking trails, picnic areas / shelters, bird watching, and primitive camping. Access to the park is free, there is a fee for camping, boating, and fishing.
Spruce Pine Lodge is a 1940's vintage log building with 2,500 square feet of space that is available to rent for weddings and other events. It is located in the Lake Michie Recreation Area.
Happy third birthday Ava! What a fun way to start off your special day.

May 15, 2009 - This and That
Working on various projects and gathering information for this site. Takes time to research, write, and build the site in general, so visitor patience is greatly appreciated.
Follow me on Twitter for daily updates. I'm not one of those "tweeters" who are keen to inform my followers about every little detail of my personal life. I use Twitter primarily to promote NC events, locations, festivals, and things of interest. I also throw in a few other items here and there that I think warrants a "tweet" and yes, maybe the odd note or two to let people know that I am human after all.

May 7, 2009 - Happy Birthday to Emily Park!
Now that she's officially 10-years-old, Miss Emily Park celebrated her move into double-digits with a trip to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. The largest natural sciences museum in the southeast was the perfect place for her to learn about the state while having a ball doing so. What a perfectly fun way to begin a new year.

May 1, 2009 - May Day in North Carolina
It doesn't get much nicer than May in North Carolina, especially when I talk to family in the north and they're still complaining of the cold. After giving them the local weather report, which left most quite envious, I headed out to Millbrook Baptist Church in Raleigh to walk their beautiful labyrinth. What better way is there to connect with good energy and release the negative?
Millbrook Baptist Church is located at 1519 East Millbrook Road in Raleigh. The labyrinth and meditation garden is in the back, beyond the parking lot. It is open year-round, 24/7 every day of the week. Visitors are expected to respect this serene space.
